Obituary | May 17, 2004 | OBITUARY: Professional Football Player. Jim Colclough was a star flanker and end in the American Football League for the Boston Patriots from 1960 to 1968. He also played one season for the Montreal Alouettes in the Canadian Football League, in 1959. Colclough attended Boston College, before being selected by the Washington Redskins in the 1959 National Football League draft. Jim enjoyed his best season in 1962, when he led the AFL with an average gain of 21.7 yards-per-catch, on 40 receptions with 10 touchdowns. For his efforts that season, Colclough was named an AFL all-star. Jim Colclough is a member of the Patriots' all-time AFL team.
