Obituary | Jun 28, 1984 | OBITUARY: ENOSBURG/WINTER HAVEN, Fla - Richard D. Garrow, 59, died Wednesday morning June 27, 1984, at his camp on Lake Carmi following a long illness. Mr. Garrow was born in Enosburg, July 27, 1924, the son of Carmi and Mary (Benoit) Garrow. Mr. Garrow was a former resident of Enosburg for 25 years and was a resident of Essex Junction for 23 years and for the past two years was been a resident of Winter Haven. He Graduated from Enosburg High School in 1942 and in the fall of 1942 joined the Army Air Corps. During his tour of duty he flew 25 completed missions over occupied Europe and a serial gunner of a B-51 bomber. In 1945 he married former Faustine Thompson of Richford. In 1947 he graduated valedictorian of his class from the New England Institute of Anatomy, Sanitary Science, Embalming and Funeral Directing in Boston, Mass. And was employed by the former Hicks Funeral Home and by Raymond W. Heald Funeral Home, both of St. Albans. In 1954 he went to work for the Kellogg Co. as a salesman and after 27 years retired due to his health. Mr. Garrow was a member of the American Legion Post 42 of Enosburg and a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. His is survived by his wife, Faustine (Thompson) Garrow of Winter Haven; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Susan) Shepard of Highgate and Miss Stephanie Garrow of Essex Junction; two grandchildren, Jessica and Joseph Shepard of Highgate; several cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 30, 1984 at 11 a.m. at the St. John the Baptist Church with the Rev. Lucien Duguette celebrating the Mass of Christian burial. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery (New). Friends may call at the Spears Funeral Homes on Dickinson Avenue in Enosburg Falls Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In Lieu of Flowers friends may make contributation to the Enosburg Community Health Center, care of Mrs. Beverly Robtoy, Box 262, Enosburg Falls 05450, or the Fanny Allen Hospital Developement Funds, 101 College Parkway, Winooski 15484, care of Mrs. Faunel.
