Obituary | Sep 22, 2004 | OBITUARY: Charles Raymond Garrow, 68, of Enfield, entered into eternal peace Monday, September 20, 2004, in Johnson Memorial Hospital, Stafford, after a short illness. Charles was born in Enosburg, Vt., the son of the late Henry and Eugenia (Lavoie) Garrow, and was a resident of Enfield for 40 years. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Charles had been employed for 36 years with Hamilton Standard, Windsor Locks. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping in Vermont, and repairing lawn equipment. He was a communicant and member of St. Martha's Church for 40 years. Charles was an active member of the Washington Irving Council No. 50 Knights of Columbus 3rd degree, and was a member and Past Faithful Navigator of the Rev. William P. Kilcoyne Assembly 4th Degree. Charles served as an officer and on numerous Knights of Columbus committees for many years. He will always be remembered for his kind and gentle approach, his sincerity, honesty, and character, and for always lending a helping hand. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sarah, having celebrated their 42nd anniversary on September 1. Charles is also survived by his beloved family; his daughter, Deborah J. Garrow and her companion, John Mays, of Stafford; a son, Christopher D. Garrow of Enfield; and a daughter, Beth Garrow of Enfield. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren, whom he cherished spending time with, Jacob, Rose, and Emily Rae Garrow. Charles also leaves three brothers and three sisters in-law, Robert and Frances Garrow of Farmington, Donald and Pat Garrow of Texas, and Bernard and Marie Garrow of Vernon; also two sisters and a brother-in-law, Madeline and Ron Diebold of Wright City, Mo. and Elizabeth Tetreault of Southwick, Mass; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Charles was predeceased by his son, Dennis, in 1985. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2004, at 9 a.m. from Browne Memorial Funeral Chapels, 43 Shaker Road, Enfield, (Exit 48 off Rt 91, Rt. 220 East 1 miles) followed by a with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Martha's Church, 214 Brainard Road, Enfield.
